All Saints Convent Chapel -  Catonsville MD

Skorpa Design Studio was commissioned by The All Saints Sisters of the Poor to renovate and restore their 100 year old chapel.   Our work included:

- Adding air conditioning to the historic chapel with out adversely effecting the Architectural expression of the space

-  Updating the lighting in the chapel both for functional and liturgical reasons

- Adding a small sound system with out compromising the integrity of the space

- Re-designing and replacing the existing 90 year old “temporary” stalls for the sisters

-Adding insulation to the ceiling while maintaining the original look of the exposed rafters

-Updating the finishes to soften the feel of the space

-Restoring & Cleaning the HIgh Altar, The Carved Statues and The Sanctuary Lamp

This project was completed in August of 2008.
